RED SALUTE
COMRADE
SOMNATH CHATTERJEE
Com. Somnath Chatterjee had always
stood in support of the Central Government Employees and State Government
Employees. As Loksabha Speaker he had received the Memorandum on Right to Strike to Government Employees signed by five crore workers and employees.
I was one of the members in the team of the delegation comprising Com. Sukamal
Sen, former MP (RS) and General Secretary, All India State Government Employees Federation, Com. S.K.Vyas, former President, Confederation of Central
Government Employees’ & Workers, Com. Muthusundaram, former General
Secretary, All India State Government Employees Federation and few others who had handed over the Memorandum.
Com Somnath Chatterjee had always
extended his helping hand to the Civil Accounts Employees. Apart from all other things, when in 2002, the
authorities had decided to close down the CCA, Supply, rendered hundreds of the
employees surplus, attempted to dislocate 35 group D employees and tried to
crush the protest movements of undivided AICAEA against the attack, Com. Somnath
Chatterjee stood in support of the struggling Civil Accounts Employees and
resolved the issue by taking it up with the Fin. Minister. Com. Ajay Bhawmick,
our the then President had played a crucial role in the process of building bridge of understanding between Com. Chatterjee and AICAEA .
WE OFFER RED SALUTE TO COM.
SOMNATH CHATTERJEE AND DIP OUR BANNER AS A MARKS OF RESPECT TO THIS VETERAN COMRADE
AND A TRUE FRIEND OF WORKING CLASS.
V. Bhattacharjee
Secretary General
